Home Care Team Takes on “100 Miles in March” for MND Awareness

The Care & Carers team transformed compassion into action with our “100 Miles in March” fundraising campaign, to support the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. Each team member has walked, run,or cycled a total of 100 miles throughout the month often squeezed in between care visits or after long shifts. This campaign illustrates the reality of care work, where professionals witness the impact of life-limiting conditions like MND firsthand.

What is MND?

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a serious illness that affects the brain and nerves. Over time, it hinders muscle function, making it increasingly difficult for individuals to move, speak, eat, and breathe. There is currently no cure for MND, making support and research vital.

The team used a digital fundraising platform to track their progress, engage supporters, and build momentum. But beyond just the numbers, this initiative carries a deeper purpose - care teams are stepping beyond their roles to make a significant impact in the community.

By one mile at a time, our amazing team has raised awareness, funds, and delivered a powerful message: care doesn’t end at the frontline.
