Sustainable Home Care: Care & Carers Shares Net-Zero Journey
Today, our Registered Manager spoke at the Buckinghamshire RM Network about a topic that has significantly influenced our work in recent years: our environmental responsibility and the steps we’ve taken to reduce our environmental footprint.
At Care & Carers, our efforts have never been about meeting targets on paper alone. Instead, we focus on small, deliberate changes that accumulate over time - rethinking how we travel, how we use energy, how we manage resources, and how we develop habits that respect the world in which we operate as a home care provider.
Earlier this year, our efforts were recognised when Care& Carers was named the Net-Zero BBF Award Runner-Up. However, awards only tell part of the story. What matters more is the mindset behind them - the belief that, as a home care service, we can provide high-quality support to people while still caring for the environment we all share.
Sharing our journey today was not just about highlighting what we’ve accomplished; it was also about encouraging everyone in social care to recognise the influence we have, no matter how small each step may seem.
