Overview

What is home and meal support?

Home and meal support is practical help with everyday tasks that may have become harder due to health, mobility, fatigue, or a change in circumstances.

It can be provided on its own where appropriate, or alongside other home care, such as personal care, medication support, or companionship.

On its own
Just meals, shopping and light household tasks, where that's all the support that's needed
Alongside other care
Combined with personal care, medication support or companionship as part of a wider care plan.

Meal preparation

A carer can help plan and prepare meals and drinks based on what you actually like to eat. Where a dietitian, speech and language therapist or other professional has advised a specific diet or texture, that guidance is followed as part of the care plan.

Home and meal support after illness or hospital

Practical support can be particularly useful after illness or a hospital stay, when energy and mobility may be reduced. The care can be reviewed as you recover or if needs change.

our approach

Doing things with you, not automatically for you

If you can still prepare part of a meal, fold laundry or choose what needs doing, we support that involvement. Maintaining skills and choice can be just as important as completing the task.
