We all need social interaction. Evidence shows that social isolation and loneliness are harmful to our health and wellbeing. The damage that loneliness does to our health is the same as smoking 15 cigarettes per day (Holt-Lunstad, 2015). Care & Carers provides trained carers who have demonstrated their ability to interact with others competently and support them to alleviate loneliness and stay independent. We will work with our clients to prepare a companionship plan covering their wishes and preferences. The plan can cover a range of activities including: visits to leisure centres, playing games, walking, visits to culture events, simple exercises at home, face-timing with relatives and friends, helping with preparation for important occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays reading books, help with memoir writing, help with meeting like-minded people, all our carers are trained, supervised, fully vetted and insured.
